Because the grass was so high at the refuge on this visit, I did some playing by intentionally shooting through the long grass when capturing images of the wildlife. With this capture, I was trying to create a 'fiery' look by blurring the foreground grass, leaving an opening in the grass for good focus on the Great Blue Heron. I love the artistry look it creates, the added colors and how it balances out the image.
