Green Grasshopper Leaf 2
Airlie Gardens - Wilmington, North Carolina
April 20th, 2022
After walking through the Airlie Gardens pergola into the gardens, I came across this garden of elephant ear plants. There were several insects chowing down or resting on the leaves in the early morning light. Hiding behind one of the leaves was this grasshopper, staring back at me. I had to hold the leaves tip down toward the ground to allow the grasshopper and this scene to display fully for my camera. I love the depth of this image as only some of the water droplets and the grasshopper are in focus.
I am in my 50's and happily married with 5 daughters from our blended family. I became interested in photography just a few short years ago, much later in life than many but my passion is strong. I started out experimenting with scenic mountain shots, landscapes, flowers and anything nature as being outside is where I am happiest.
