Yellow Warbler Portrait 1

Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge - Lipsec, Delaware
September 4th, 2021
This is a Yellow Warbler, one of the beautiful song birds you may see in your own backyard. We, my wife and I followed this song bird down one of the Bombay Hook paths as it traveled from one piece of foliage to another along the waterline of one of the Bombay pools. Once it stopped long enough, I was able to grab this capture. While taking the shot, I noticed some foreground yellow flowers, so, getting as low as I could I tried to shoot through the flowers. It worked out well as it created a nice foreground bokeh of yellow fire that really adds interest to this image.

I am in my 50's and happily married with 5 daughters from our blended family. I became interested in photography just a few short years ago, much later in life than many but my passion is strong. I started out experimenting with scenic mountain shots, landscapes, flowers and anything nature as being outside is where I am happiest.
