Great Egret Portrait with Flowers

As I came upon this field of Joe-Pye weed in bloom in the Fall season, I saw this Great Egret standing on the opposite side, just into the water of the Bombay Hook pool. I was able to grab this capture as the bird looked backwards across its body, adding interest to the shot. I love the contrast of the beautiful colors of the pinkish-red Joe-Pye and the blue colors of the water beyond the bird.
