Great Egret Walking
Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge - Lipsec, Delaware

While visiting the new pool at Bombay Hook (my wife and I call it Night Heron Pool as there are many night herons that roost there), I caught this Great Egret strolling across the exposed pool bed. I love his long strides as he walks and how the early morning light made the colors of the moss and grass growing on the exposed pool bed pop with color. The silhouette of the bird accenting the beak and edges of the bird's feathers completes the shot nicely.
